The guitars are heating up! The Rockit wheels are churning for a full production of The Who’s Tommy at the second annual Vanguard Awards at the Count Basie Theatre on Saturday, August 29, 7pm. After his rehearsal session, Drummer Carmine Appice remarked,”Playing with the Rockit kids was a great time for me. They all played really well with good feel and dynamics of the music.”

Maureen Van Zandt and her sister Lori Santoro are the official wardrobe specialists making everyone look cool. Vanguard honoree Bobby Bandiera also rehearsed with us and will join our musicians on stage.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2015 inductee, Ricky Byrd will perform “Crimson and Clover,” the 1969 hit song he later covered with Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. American Troubadour, Pat Guadagno will join Rockit in his special rendition of The Youngbloods “Get Together.”
